It’s Official, DJI Mini 2 Is The Fastest Mini Drone

We were lucky enough to have both the original DJI Mavic Mini and uprising DJI Mini 2 at the same time. If you were wondering which mini drone boasts better in terms of flight performance such as speed. Just wait until you see the outcome between DJI Mavic Mini and DJI Mini 2 drone!

The original DJI Mavic Mini came out on October 30th, 2019. At first glance, a lot of people were impressed with its flight capabilities. This ultra-portable, compact, and foldable drone was stable, fast and packed with tons of features. Which is something that a lot of people don’t expect from a mini drone with a price tag at $399. Some people felt it was cheap and got more than what they asked for.

While they are missing one of the most important factors that led to the popularization of DJI Mavic Mini and DJI Mini 2 drone is weight. In fact, both drones are incredibly lightweight. Both DJI Mavic Mini and Mini 2 drone weights only 249 grams. Which means they are not required to be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at all.

Regardless of those critics, the DJI Mavic Mini set a new standard for the next generation of small drones such as DJI Spark 2 and others. Ultra-portable and compact design will let these small DJI drones do everything big drones do at roughly one-third of the size and price. Thus that’s how DJI decided to launch a brand new Mini 2 drone — one of the best 4K UHD flycam quadcopter for beginners and professional remote pilots.

DJI Mini 2 Drone Comes With Major Upgrades

Reasons to Buy DJI Mini 2 Drone

DJI engineers and product managers listened to the critiques on the original Mavic Mini. Even the DJI CEO and Founder, Frank Wang, said that he wasn’t too happy about the camera quality. So they poured in their brain power in building a foldable mini-sized camera drone that will still weigh less than 0.55 lbs but with more upgrades and better flight performance.

The all new DJI Mini 2 drone is equipped with a camera which can capture stills and record videos at 4K UHD / 30 FPS. Plus, it has a bitrate of 100MB/S and generates both RAW + JPEG format. Which is something that most professional aerial photographers are hoping for — a mini drone that they can take with anywhere they go and produce quality shots. The Mini 2 drone is also equipped with powerful motors which lets it hold on its own in winds up to 24 miles per hour.

Because of the major upgrades that the DJI Mini 2 drone comes with. Putting both mini drones head to head would be unfair. In fact, we know it is true. But just for fun we decided to do a speed test to show the differences between DJI Mavic Mini and Mini 2 drones.

It is obvious from the specifications below that will tell you what the outcome looks like. Here, you can see the difference between Mavic Mini and Mini 2 speed specifications.

It’s official, the DJI Mini 2 is the fastest mini drone. It is packed with a lot of awesome features including upgraded camera, faster bitrate and new intelligent flight modes. While you can build a small FPV that will be faster than both Mavic Mini and Mini 2 drones. It will not do a lot of things that both mini drones can accomplish.

Once again, we are impressed with flight performance and capabilities that the DJI Mini 2 drone has to offer. It is one of the best flycam drones you can buy right now at this price tag. But what about the Mavic Mini? It’s still a good mini drone and of course not everyone has $449 to the upgraded quadcopter. So if you are on a budget, it’s a good idea to check out these toy drones for starters.
