In this review, I am going to guide you through this drone’s flight performance, design and build quality, features and more. At the end of DEERC D20 review, you will be able to make the final decision of whether to buy it.
While there are plenty of drones to choose from, beginners who have never flown a drone before will want to try out one of these best entry-level drones first before moving on to more expensive camera drones. That being said, read to find out why you should buy the DEERC D20 mini drone.

In some cases, you will want to purchase additional flight batteries for the DEERC D20 mini drone to extend its total flight time.
Inside the package contents, you should expect to get the following items:
- 1 x DEERC D20 RC Drone

- 2 x Batteries
- 1 x USB Charging Cable
- 4 x Extra Propellers
- 4 x Propeller Guards

Design and Build Quality
My initial impression with the DEERC D20 mini drone was how small and compact this quadcopter is. With a body dimension that has around the same size of an adult’s palm hand. The drone also weighs merely 0.15 lbs which doesn’t require it to be registered with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Each motor arm is foldable and can be unfolded outwards. Personally, I like the fact that this drone is foldable because it makes it easy enough to store the drone inside your pocket, backpack and even a traveling case. These motor arms are outfitted with brushed motors.
The 720P HD camera is located at the front that provides a crystal clear aerial view. It is not remote-powered, which means if you want to capture a unique perspective, you will have to adjust the camera setting and position manually — which is a drawback from GPS-based drones such as Mavic Mini and Ruko U11 for instance.
The battery is located in the back and provides up to 10 minutes of flight time. Which is actually very good considering how affordable and budget-friendly the DEERC D20 mini drone is. You also can purchase additional flight batteries for this drone to extend its overall flight time.
In the next part of our in-depth DEERC D20 review, we are going to talk about this toy drone’s flight performance. That being said, the DEERC D20 is a very small drone and doesn’t come packed with awesome flight performance. Because it is designed mainly for indoor use due to low power output and compact size, in addition to being lightweight.
While you can definitely fly the DEERC D20 mini drone outside, you need to take the weather factors into consideration. This mini drone can’t fare well in moderate to heavy winds since it doesn’t have enough power to resist against them. Therefore, it’s recommended that you fly this mini drone outside when the weather is calm.
As mentioned before, a battery provides up to 10 minutes of flight time. The DEERC D20 mini drone has a maximum range of 40 meters or 131 feet. Given how small the flight range, it makes the drone ideal for learning how to fly and to capture aerial shots indoor and outdoor.
If you ever wondered how easy it is to fly a drone. Then in this part of DEERC D20 review, you will learn more about its flight controls and how easy it is to fly for beginners. The DEERC D20 mini drone is incredibly easy to control thanks to a simplified remote controller. The remote controller only consists of what you need to fly a drone and includes quick buttons like landing and takeoff for example.
Flying this mini drone is straightforward and easy enough for a beginner who doesn’t have any prior flight experience. While the DEERC D20 mini drone does not have any GPS module for precise positioning, it uses Optical Flow system which automatically adjusts the internal air pressure to deliver stabilized flight level.
This allows a smooth and precise flight experience for both beginners and recreational remote pilots. In general, if you fly the DEERC D20 drone inside, it will be a very easy and ideal place to get started with for your first flight. Once you gain experience, you can adjust the speed settings to high and fly outdoors to challenge yourself even more.
Even a mini drone like DEERC D20 is packed with tons of features. In fact, the DEERC D20 drone can perform automatic takeoff, landing, return to home and keep you notified through a number of safety functions. For instance, if the drone reaches maximum range, the remote controller will make a beeping noise to let you know. Additionally, if the drone’s battery is low, the remote controller will also notify you so that you can perform return to home.
There’s a feature that I would like to explain more about in detail and that is the Headless Mode. If you are just starting off and want a good drone to learn how to fly. You will need a drone with Headless Mode. Basically, this mode reorients flight controls from drone to remote controller. Which means you will fly the drone based on the direction you are pushing the movement lever at instead of heading that drone goes in.
Along with these features, you also can capture stills and record videos at 720P HD resolution quality. To enable these features, you will need to connect the drone to your smartphone through using the app. The information for the app can be found in the instruction manual.
To conclude our in-depth DEERC D20 review, this is one of the best mini drones with built-in 720P HD camera and a reasonably good flight performance. A single battery provides up to 10 minutes of flight time which puts DEERC D20 mini drone above the average compared to other quadcopters.
That being said, this mini drone is affordable, budget-friendly and has so much to offer. If you are new to flying and need a good drone to learn how to fly. The DEERC D20 is a perfect drone to get started with. This foldable drone will teach you the basics of flying as well as producing aerial shots — both are essential skills to become proficient at flying a drone.
